DIY cheap Pottery Barn Kids Rosebud lampshade

I fell in love with the Pottery Barn Kids rosebud lamp shade long ago and wanted to get it for my daughter's room. I did not fall in love with the price though.

So, I decided I would make it myself. And it turned out pretty good. I actually made this three years ago. It has held up so well, I thought I would blog about it now. I say "it's held up so well"....well, because it's made out of pink  rose soap petals. Can you believe it? I even hot glued the soap petals to the lamp and it didn't melt them. I looked all over for silk flowers, but nothing was what I wanted. And the soap was so super cheap. I went to Target and bought a nice lamp and a basic lamp shade. Then went and bought rose bud soap leaves at the craft store. I simply just hot glued the soap rose buds to the lamp and worked my way around. It turned out super! And it's still around today. It even spent a few months in storage. Who knew soap could last?

Where exactly did you buy the the rose bud soap leaves?

Hi! Thanks for asking. They came from Michaels. I hope you can find some. I purchased them years ago.
