Football Cheer Gift

When my daughter was cheering this past fall, I was LUCKY enough to be the team manager. I love making crafts. This was my attempt to make the mid season gift for our Saints football players. It turned out very well and was super easy to do. Everyone loved them.

I got lots of door hangers from Hobby Lobby, some 3D football stickers, gold paint pen, ribbon and black paint. I already had some Mod Podge left over. I love that stuff. The only difficult thing, if that's what you want to call it, was printing off the logos that I used on the door hangers.

First I went to Google images and searched for Saints. I found 2 good ones that I wanted to use and printed them off on good card stock paper. It helped that I had a good printer too. There was lot of black and the ink didn't smudge at all. Though I had to make another trip to Office Depot to get more ink. Anyway. I printed the logos off and trimmed them to fit on either side of the door hanger.

Next I painted the door hangers a metallic black. Let dry and then added a second coat. Next I Mod Podged the logos to the door hangers. Let dry and then sanded the edges to give it a worn vintage look. Then I covered the door hangers with two thin coats of Mod Podge. For the minor extra details I added the stickers and ribbon. I could only find black and white helmet stickers, so I took gold paint pen and filled in the white part.

On the other side, I edged the door hanger in gold paint pen and also added the boys names and numbers.

Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope you enjoy all of the crafty cheer stuff.
